"The whole concept of the restaurant is based on my desire to introduce  the local people of Johor Bahru to delicious western food," says Hans Durst, owner and executive chef of Sweetwater Restaurant. 

"But when you speak about western cuisine, however, you're speaking about a very large menu, so I had to narrow my menu down, " Durst continues, "and Mediterranean food is a style of cooking I've become very familiar with over the years and so it became the natural theme of my menu."

The menu at Durst's new bar and bistro includes Italian pasta and  pizza, Moroccan chicken dishes, French deserts, Spanish paella and much more.
